The Giving Wall

An annual way to serve our community during the Christmas season

Giving is way better than getting!

One of the greatest joys that we experience is being able to give a gift to someone. The Giving Wall project provides that opportunity for us to give to some worthy organizations in our community. Each year we select four organizations to receive needed items that will help those with whom they work in our community.Suggested items are placed on Christmas ornaments that hang from the Giving Wall. Items range from cleaning supplies, school supplies, to toiletries and more.

We ask our #CapCityFam to take an ornament (or several!) and purchase the item listed, bring the items back the following Sunday and place them by a Christmas tree in our lobby. The Giving Wall makes an excellent opportunity to serve with your whole family or with a life group. Grab multiple items and make a large shopping trip to spend time together enjoying the holiday season while also serving those in need.

What organizations are we serving?

Sunshine Center

The Sunshine Center is a family abuse prevention agency that offers parenting classes, supervised visitation, a safe house for abuse victims and therapy for children & adults.

Items for the Sunshine Center: playdough, finger paints, laundry detergent, all purpose cleaners, window cleaners, diapers (size 5 & 6), tall kitchen trash bags.

Elkhorn Elementary school

Elkhorn Elementary School is one of our favorite organizations that we have partnered with over the past five or six years. We have partnered with the school on many projects. One of our favorites is the "Elks Club" that we hold there once a week during the school year.

Items for Elkhorn: body wash & shampoo, underwear, "springy" shoe laces, deodorant, toothpaste & brushes, hand soap.

Wanda joyce robinson foundation
