In Her Shoes: An Event for Mothers & Teen Daughters
Saturday, Feb 18
Counselor, Life Coach, and #1 best-selling author, Shannon Perry, created the IN HER SHOES event to help moms, stepmoms, guardians, and grandparents who are raising teen/tween girls to learn how to open up new lines of positive communication and bring their relationships to a new level. The event includes skits, games, door prizes, food, media, music, audience participation, and breakout sessions with moms and daughters, as well as general sessions with Shannon where moms and their girls learn how to better communicate with one another and acquire action steps to implement in everyday life.
RISE: OCA Community Event
Thursday, Feb 23, 6:30pm
We are partnering with the Orphan Care Alliance group to host a RISE Event at Capital City on February 23rd at 6:30pm. The event will provide information about the fostering and adoptive need in our community and how we can help. We hope that you will share this information with your groups, families, and friends and encourage them to join you that evening.
We realize that not everyone has a desire to foster or adopt, but there are many other opportunities to be involved in helping those in our community that are in need.
Students: Spring Break '23 Mission Trip
April 3 - 6, 2023
This April, our CapCity Students will be heading to southeastern Kentucky for a short-term mission trip with Big Creek Missions. Through this trip, students will experience what it means to serve God and to serve others. Students will be encouraged to step out of their comfort zones physically and spiritually. And behind these things, students will encounter real people with real struggles. This will be an incredible experience for students to learn compassion through service.
When: April 3-6, 2023
Where: Leslie County, Kentucky
Who: Students (6th grade - 12th grade)
Cost: $25 per/student
*Adults are also able to go with a background check. Cost $25 per/adult.
Contact Ben Jeffries, Student Minister, at [email protected] for additional information.
