Jesus Prom is a night for our CapCityFam to love on those with physical and/or mental disabilities. It's guaranteed to be a night to remember, full of games, prizes, and dancing! There will also be a photo booth, which is always a crowd-pleaser.
As the doors open at 6pm, we warmly welcome our guests and provide them with an Agent for the evening. After check-in, they are free to explore the activities. We kindly request that each guest have a Caregiver on site. For our dedicated Caregivers, a Respite Room will be available, a space for them to unwind and enjoy the evening.
Just so you know, there is no dinner this year, but we will have snacks available.
We are so excited that you are going to join us.

Sign Up to Volunteer for Jesus Prom
Jesus Prom is one of CapCity's biggest all-hands-on-deck events—and when we say "all hands on deck," we mean it. It takes everyone to help us throw a huge party for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and show them just how much God loves them.
Volunteer Times: 5:45pm - 8:30pm
We are looking for volunteers to be Guardians (Escorts) for the night - accompanying our guests on their journey from games to the dance floor as they have the time of their lives. Escorts may pair up with another individual and have one date. Escorts under 16 must pair with an adult.
Note: Childcare is available to volunteers during Jesus Prom. Please indicate the ages of your child/children during registration.
Contact Alathea Hamilton at [email protected] or Commissioner Laura Haydon at [email protected] with questions.
Not sure what to wear?
If you haven't guessed, our theme this year is "Superheroes." We look forward to seeing everyone decked out in their capes! Don't know what to wear? Here are some ideas...
- First and foremost, masks allow superheroes to maintain their anonymity. Many superheroes have secret identities, and their masks are a crucial component of keeping their alter egos hidden. By concealing their faces, superheroes can carry out their heroic deeds without fear of retaliation from their enemies.
- Any superhero with a long legacy has probably donned a spandex-like suit at some point throughout comics history: Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and the X-Men, just to name a few.
- Everyone has had the debate about why their favorite superhero is the best, and while they are all incredible, some really don’t have any powers to speak of and need a bit more help from some really cool gadgets and technology, such as:
- Green Lantern's Ring,
- Batman’s car,
- Captain America's Shield,
- Spider-Man's Web Shooter,
- Thor's Mjolnir, and
- Wonder Woman's invisible jet.
All kidding aside, you are free to wear whatever you would like. We just ask that you do not wear a mask that hides your identity, as it will make some of our guests nervous.
